Pride In The Park F.A.Q 2024

(1) I am sensitive to loud music and sounds, what do you have in place?"


We are happy to say that all of our music and acts are going to be at an appropriate level throughout the entire event. In the event however that you feel uncomfortable or would like to escape the noise of crowds, etc, please go to our quiet area, which for this year also features Board In The City CIC also offering a pop up Board Game Cafe, where ear defenders will also be supplied for a refundable deposit of £10.00.

(2) I do not like enclosed or cramped spaces, how can you help?"


We are pleased to say that our event is being laid out in a way that is accessible to all. The way the site will be laid out will mean that you can move about without feeling entrapped, if you need assistance please see any of our volunteer marshalls around the site in yellow high vis vests or please come to our event control tent. 
 

(3) I would like some ear defenders to use around the event, can you help?"


We are pleased to say that we have a limited amount of ear defenders available for use around the site, you will be required to pay a refundable deposit of £10.00 to be able to use these around the site, please visit the quiet area on arrival. These will be disinfected between uses.

(4) Where can I get help on the day?


We have a huge array of options available to you. If you need help or assistance with anything please speak to one of our volunteer marshalls or security staff who will be on-site for the duration of the event and are all in radio contact. You can get assistance at any point via our event command post that is listed on the site map.

The ask for Angela scheme will also be running across the entire site. We will also have fully trained mental health first aiders onsite as well. We are also pleased to say that all of our security are fully LGBTQIA+ friendly.

(5) Will you have toilets on site?


We are pleased to say that we will not only have toilets on-site, but they will be gender-neutral, and as well as that, we will also have accessible toilets for those with disabilities on-site too. We also plan to have Mobiloo on site again this year.

(6) Where can I apply to perform at Pride In The Park?


We are now full for performers for 2024.

(7) We are a charity and would like a stall at Pride In The Park, how can we apply?"

(8) We are a community group or CIC and would like a stall at Pride In The Park, how do we apply?"


The same process applies to all stall holders, we have introduced an online application process to make this fully accessible to all. Please click here to apply.

(9) Where is Pride In The Park being held?


Pride In The Park is being held at Hoglands Park, Houndwell Place. Southampton. SO14 1JZ. For directions please click here.
 

(10) Can I bring my dog into Pride In The Park?


Yes, Dogs are welcome at People's Pride, provided they are kept on a lead. We also ask that you please clean up after them. Please note DOGS are not allowed in or around the Reptile handling experience. This upsets the animals located in this area. 

(11) I would like to donate to Pride In The Park 2024, how can I?"

(12) How can I apply to be a trader at Pride In The Park?

(13) Will there be a designated quiet area?

 

Please go to our quiet area, which for this year also features Board In The City CIC also offering a pop up Board Game Cafe, where ear defenders will also be supplied for a refundable deposit of £10.00.
 

(14) Will there be first aiders on site?


We will have a fully qualified first aid provision on-site, but we are not stopping there, we will also have fully qualified mental health first aiders on-site too. As well as this we will have an ambulance on site for the weekend as well.
 

(15) Will the toilets be gender neutral?


Yes all of our toilets are.
 

(16) What safety protocols do you have in place?


1. Fully DBS checked security, staff, volunteers and first aiders.

2. We will be operating the ask for Angela scheme throughout the event, please ask any Marshall or security for Angela and they will help. They are all trained on this.

3. We have also have a fully comprehensive security, risk assesment and many other policies including lost children's provision and much more.

4. We also have a strict event policy you can find by viewing our Pride page.

(17) Can I bring my own alcohol onto site?


No, we are sorry but due to the fact that we have a licence to sell alcohol on-site, you will not be allowed to bring alcohol into the site. We do have 4 fully licensed bars to choose from though. 

We do ask however that you do not become a nuisance or get drunk to excess as you will be asked to leave. We also ask that you do not allow under 18's to consume the alcohol that you have purchased or try and purchase it for them.

(18) I have specific dietary requirements, can I bring my own food onto site?"


Yes, we do not feel it is fair or right to stop you from bringing your own food and drink to a public event.

We will have a range of caterers on-site all serving a range of food for most dietary requirements.

The only exception to this is alcohol as we have competitively priced bars on-site, so no alcohol can be brought on-site.

(19) Will food be available to purchase at your event?


There will be a huge array of food vendors offering a range of vegan, meat and other such delights.

There are also some stallholders who sell sweets, popcorn, ice cream, alcoholic candy floss, espresso coffee and much more.

(20) Can I bring my own camera into Pride In The Park?


We welcome personal cameras, however, if you are looking to take professional photos, a media pass must be arranged by contacting: info@fireflyfestivals.co.uk
 

(21) How much are tickets to Pride In The Park?


We do not charge entry to Pride In The Park, this is a completely FREE event for anyone to attend.

FREE tickets are also available on the gate subject to availability, but you will need to wait at times.

(23) How do I get a ticket for Pride In The Park?

This was introduced to keep numbers at a safe level by the council as our event gets more and more popular.

We are also keen to point out that there will be FREE tickets on each day as well, but we encourage people to please pre-book to guarantee entry and save on waiting at the gate/

 

(24) Will there be a cash point on site?


We do not have any cash machines on-site, but there is a cash machine at the local shop besides our site called Central Convenience Store, the address for which is 1 Palmerston Road, Southampton, SO14 1LL.

There are also various bank branches a short walk up to Above Bar Street.

(25) What will be on at Pride In The Park?


A huge variety of stuff for all keep up to date on our social media pages etc. As well as this you can click here for our updated page which will be updated as and when the need arises.
 

(26) Is there Bicycle  / E-Scooter parking at Pride In The Park?


Yes, we are pleased to say for 2024, we have brought back Bicycle parking onsite next to the security cabin.

Please ask any member of the team whom will be happy to assist. Please make sure you lock your bikes or scooters up, as we will not be held responsible for any losses.

(26) I have lost an item, where do I go?

Please ask any member of the team whom will be happy to assist. Our lost property hub is within the event control tent which is listed on the site map. Thank you.
